Reykjavik - Iceland

Iceland, located in the North Atlantic Ocean, just south of the Arctic Circle. A country that has continuous daylight in the summer months and on average about 4 hours daylight in the winter months. A country steeped in history, with 61% of the population living in the capital of Reykjavik. Much of the country is covered in glaciers, but there were a few main towns worth a visit, such as Reykjavik and Akureyri. Whilst in Iceland, there is a tour that is very much worth doing called the Golden circle. Places visited are Pingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal area and the Gullfoss Waterfall, this trip can easily be booked with large selection of travel companies. Eating out and shopping can be very expensive, as Icelanders import the majority of their goods from other countries, examples of this or a cup of coffee about £10, a bottle of house wine for about £60 and a main meal in a restaurant around £40. Many companies fly directly to into Iceland, and transport from the airport is very easy, there are plenty of taxis or buses that go into the town centre Reykjavik
